Joey Cupcake’s Baby Registry
*** update February 2017 *** i am overloaded by hand me down newborn and 0-9 month clothing, toys, bottles, towels, bassinet, stroller. I am incredibly grateful but what I need most right now is money http://paypal.me/joeycupcake to help keep me afloat when I cannot work and don’t get maternity leave, or there are still some items on this list (changing table pad and covers, co-sleeper spare sheets, carseat base, baby wipes, pacifiers, books, etc). I HAVE A VERY SMALL APARTMENT AND CANNOT STORE LARGE THINGS. Thank you so much!!! xoxo

Hi Friends,
Thanks for checking out my registry. What I’m most grateful for is the support of everyone in my community. I was able to end a 3.5 year battle with infertility because of the extra fertility drugs from queer mamas I met online which helped defray some of the mammoth IVF expenses. It has literally taken a village to get me knocked up. I cannot wait to introduce my kid to my people and raise the next generation of renegades.
For those who wish to give a gift, the most appreciated thing right now would be money. If you are so inclined, you can http://paypal.me/joeycupcake or https://venmo.com/Joey-Cupcake with a note for how you want it to be used.
Not only do I not get paid maternity leave as a self employed tradesperson, but I must also still cover my rent for my station at the salon when I am not able to work after labor. I am saving up for a doula ($1500) to advocate for me in the hospital in April. Daycare will be a whole new adventure as a single income mom in the most expensive city in the US. Placenta encapsulation is $225. Every little bit helps with Eco diaper services (cloth or compostable) costing about $25 a week to try to keep it green.
I’m encouraging resourced, second hand items as I want to reduce the amount of landfill. If you know you want to pass on something from my registry list, please mark it off this online list so I don’t end up with 50 newborn onesies and nothing for month nine. I also would love gender neutral-ish baby things (no pink or blue rules) and feminist/politically inspired baby gear. I already have most of what I need as far clothing and furniture from the amazing queer moms in my life. A book you loved from your childhood with a note written in it would be amazing.
Another DREAM item would be an xtracycle type cargo bike that grows from infant to kid. My bicycle frame size is 54 cm. Right now I only have a racing bike that cannot accommodate a child and I have dreams of being a bike commuter.
Thank you so much for your support and love in this life transition, I couldn’t do it without you.
xoxo
Joey
